Today we are making a balancing butterfly, so use the opportunity to discuss the physics of balance as you have fun with these fluttering beauties!
You will need paper or card, coins or buttons, scissors and glue.
Cut out the butterfly from the paper or card. Children can paint or colour their butterflies.
Place a dab of glue at the top of each wing (about where the X is in the photo) and stick either buttons (for flimsy paper) or small coins (for cardstock) .
Have fun watching the wings flutter while balancing these butterflies on your finger or shoulder.
I hope you have had fun making butterflies this month. Which was your favourite?
