Let’s Make Snakes! (1)

TAL Diamond Snake

The Diamond Snake is so much fun! Use this craft to talk about colour, folding and see your child’s fine-motor skills in action.

You will need:

  • Strips of coloured paper 2cm wide
  • Glue
  • Scrap of green card and red paper
  • A marker

Step One:

Glue the edge of a strip of paper at right angles to another strip. Begin making the snake by folding one strip over the other. Add extra strips of paper (different colours makes this more fun) by gluing them on top of the current strips to make the snake as long as you like.

Draw the shape of the snakes head on the green card and cut it out. Draw eyes on the head. Cut a triangle out of one end of the red scrap of paper and stick it on the head.
