About Touch and Learn

TAL Kim Hunter

Having worked with children, and raising one of my own, I have come to realise that the best way to teach is through play.

Through play we encourage creativity and creativity leads to being able to ‘think outside the box’.

The Touch and Learn range of products has been developed with this in mind.

Touch and Learn Books

Sewn by hand, these gems are designed for the 0 to 6 year age group. Interaction with your child while ‘reading’ these books will make the concept of reading and learning fun. All the books contain multiple play and learning opportunities. Identifying colours and shapes, feeling textures, and developing fine motor skills through not only touching and outlining with a finger on the page but also with the use of buttons and other interesting trinkets.

Special orders such as bright red on black for children with CVI can be designed and constructed on request.

NOTE: some items eg. buttons are sewn and glue is used in some instances to join items such as eyes – adult supervision is required as these may be a choking hazard.

Touch and Learn Felt Boards and Themes

Using the imagination is a skill required for problem solving. Encouraging children to invent stories while playing develops this ability. Using Touch and Learn Felt Boards and Felt Board Themes helps children develop skills through multi-sensory play. Some themes come with a story or rhyme for you to read to your child as they move the felt pieces around the board and then retell or make up their own stories, whilst others follow a subject such as ‘On the Farm’.

NOTE: glue is used in some instances to join items such as eyes – adult supervision is required as these may be a choking hazard.

Touch and Learn Busy Bags

Need a ‘Grab ‘n Go’ option for keeping your little one busy? Then the Touch and Learn range of Busy Bags is just for you! Handcrafted games and puzzles neatly stored in bag make the perfect quick distraction.

NOTE: glue is used in some instances to join items such as eyes – adult supervision is required as these may be a choking hazard.
